We are thrilled to present Kossoff – the Band Plays On, a powerhouse show celebrating the incredible life and music of the legendary Paul Kossoff. This is way beyond a mere tribute act – this is the real deal.

Here is why you cannot miss this:

🎸 🚨 ATTENTION

It's just one month until the Very Beautiful South: tribute play TWO show at All Saints Church Wokingham England on Saturday 25th July. Some tickets for both the matinee and evening shows available!

Wokingham Music Club – Very Beautiful South – Matinee & Evening

Very Beautiful South are the UKs most authentic tribute to The Beautiful South and the genius songwriting partnership of Paul Heaton & David Rotheray.

Between 1989 and 2006, The Beautiful South clocked-up no less than 20 UK Top-30 hits with most making it into the UK Top-10, including the No.1 hit A Little Time and other classic songs such as: Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes, Good As Gold, and Don’t Marry Her. Not to mention their Greatest Hits album, Carry On Up The Charts, which sold just under 2-million copies – making it the second highest selling album of 1994 and which went on to stay in the UK Album Top-30 for the whole of 1995 – achieving no less than six Platinum Disks!

Celebrating this legacy are a group of enthusiastic and experienced musicians who are, first and foremost, lifelong fans of The Beautiful South. Quickly gaining themselves a reputation for putting on a hugely entertaining show, Very Beautiful South are the perfect tribute band – playing hit after hit of ‘Sing-Along-A-South’ classics – all lovingly recreated to transport you back into the heady days of Hull’s alternative pop-rock sound of quirky lyrics and catchy melodies.

Bar opens an hour before both shows – enjoy a drink before the show!

Up next at Wokingham’s best live music venue, it’s Wokingham Music Club – Kossoff… The Band Plays On on Friday 3rd July at the Royal British Legion Winnersh – tickets still available at the #wokinghammusicclub website!

In March 2026 it was fifty years since the tragic death of Paul Kossoff.

Kossoff – the Band Plays On intend to commemorate Paul’s life and music in a series of very special shows.

Paul Kossoff, the guitar prodigy, aged just 25, tragically died in March 1976 – but his music lives on. Kossoff was (and still is) revered by music fans and fellow musicians worldwide. Joe Bonamassa, Brian May (Queen), Gary Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers / Government Mule) are just a few of the guitarists influenced by Kossoff.
Kossoff…The Band Plays On will feature the very best of the Free and Back Street Crawler back catalogue.

The band is fronted by Terry Slesser, formerly lead vocalist with the band Beckett then chosen by Kossoff to front the band Back Street Crawler.

The line-up includes some well known musicians, making this show way beyond a mere ‘tribute’ act. Guitarist John Buckton embodies the sound, soul and rawness of Koss' playing, and it’s no surprise that Free drummer Simon Kirke has said: "If Free were to reform, John would be my first choice as guitarist." Paul Kossoff had his own unique style, and it lives on in John Buckton’s fretboard.

Also included in the line-up is powerhouse drummer Clive Edwards formerly of UFO, Wild Horses and Lionheart.
Highlights will include Free’s world-wide hit and rock anthem “All Right Now”, “Fire and Water”, “Wishing Well”, crowd-pleaser “The Hunter” and “Molten Gold”; one of the first tracks Slesser and Kossoff played together with Back Street Crawler.

All of this is brought to life in a show of sheer quality which will pay homage to the highly-talented and much-missed guitarist.
Terry sure knows how to captivate an audience. Aside from his amazing vocal ability (the reason Kossoff chose Terry to front his band), he's got some seriously entertaining anecdotes in his armoury, which are all delivered with style and panache.

This is a revealing insight into songwriting, recording and life on (and off!) the road. Terry’s shared experiences of working, touring and living with Koss bring an authenticity that no mere ‘tribute’ act could imitate.

Kossoff…The Band Plays On present a very special evening to celebrate the life and music of Paul Kossoff….gone but not forgotten.

Come and enjoy our bar when the doors open at 7:00pm, before the show starts at 8:00pm. The bar will be open at the back of the auditorium throughout the performance.
