Wokingham Lions May Fayre

The Wokingham Lions May Fayre is run on the first May Bank Holiday Monday – we’ve been running them since 1995!

The next event is scheduled for Monday 4th May 2026.

It’s a great family day out, we close the town centre to traffic and organise lots of activities including:

  • A kiddies funfair and train ride
  • Children’s Farm
  • Ferret Racing
  • Over 150 stalls offering all sorts of goodies from commercial organisations and charities
  • Numerous food vendors selling a wide variety of meals, snacks, ice cream and drinks
  • Picnic area in Elms Field

The main stage is in the Market Place. Stalls extend down Denmark Street and through Erftstadt Court towards Elms Field. The funfair is on Elms Field along with other rides and food vendors. There is also an events marquee in Elms field that will keep you entertained while you enjoy your picnic.

The event is run to raise much needed funds for local charities.

You can download last years’ programme here.

All of our stall places are now full – but if you’d like to attend you can put yourself on the waiting list here in case any extra places become available.

It’s just one month until the Wokingham Lions May Fayre 2026 on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May 2026!

The May Fayre will take place in Wokingham Town Centre and Elms Field from 10:00 to 17:00, with over 140 stalls, plus rides, food and drink outlets. Entertainment will include: a Children’s Farm; Ferret Racing; Stilt Walkers dressed for May 4th; Morris Dancers; Concert Bands; and Wokingham Rock Choir. There is bound to be something for everyone to enjoy!

All funds raised by Wokingham Lions Club from the May Fayre will be supporting charities and good causes, mainly in the local Wokingham area.

May Fayre Chairman, Andy Goffin is looking forward to this year’s event - “2026 is the 30th Wokingham May Fayre. Commencing in 1995, the May Fayre has run every year apart from 2020 and 2021 during the Covid Pandemic and we are overjoyed to have made this significant milestone. Organised by the Wokingham Lions Club, it is one of the largest street fairs in the south of England. The main goals of the May Fayre are to provide a low-cost and fun family event in Wokingham, and to enable local charities and other groups to raise money for their own good causes. It is a wonderful day out for families and people of all ages, with entertainment throughout the town, where we celebrate the town’s culture.

Wokingham Lions Club is working extremely hard to make it a success. Our thanks go to Wokingham Town Council, who give us such tremendous support as well as Clifton Ingram, our main sponsor.”

Wokingham Lions Club would also like to thank the following sponsors; The Wokingham Society, Allder Glass LTD, Blandy & Blandy Solicitors and Melanie Curtis Accountants.

Wokingham Lions Club are always pleased to welcome new sponsors, supporters and on-the-day volunteers - drop us a message!
