The Wokingham Lions May Fayre is run on the first May Bank Holiday Monday – we’ve been running them since 1995!
The next event is scheduled for Monday 4th May 2026.
It’s a great family day out, we close the town centre to traffic and organise lots of activities including:
- A kiddies funfair and train ride
- Children’s Farm
- Ferret Racing
- Over 150 stalls offering all sorts of goodies from commercial organisations and charities
- Numerous food vendors selling a wide variety of meals, snacks, ice cream and drinks
- Picnic area in Elms Field
The main stage is in the Market Place. Stalls extend down Denmark Street and through Erftstadt Court towards Elms Field. The funfair is on Elms Field along with other rides and food vendors. There is also an events marquee in Elms field that will keep you entertained while you enjoy your picnic.
The event is run to raise much needed funds for local charities.

We will have a fundraising tombola and whilst we have lots of lovely prizes already, with many thanks for these (and especially to The Cowshed), more would be welcome.

The May Fayre is a much-loved town centre event, which starts in Wokingham Market Place, continues down Denmark Street, with access onto Elms Field via The Plaza. A fantastic day out for everyone!
