Thursday 11 October has been designated World Sight Day. Lions Clubs throughout the world are dedicated to tackling sight problems, particularly in less developed countries. One of their initiatives is Spectrek, whereby we recycle unused spectacles for the benefit of those suffering sight problems in third world countries. Spectrek is described in detail in our Community Support page.
To mark World Sight Day 2018 we will have a stall in Wokingham Market Place on Saturday 13 October with promotional material publicising Spectrek. To help understand the implications of sight loss the town mayor, councillor Julian McGhee-Sumner has agreed to participate in the event. He will be blindfolded at 10am at the stall, and then guided around the centre of town.
Please come along and support us.
